Scope of application
For NBWN (“Notebooks wie neu”, meaning notebooks like new), a division of Gustav Windeit GmbH, (hereinafter "NBWN", we or us) the protection of your privacy is a particularly important concern when processing personal data and using our website. Therefore we have implemented technical and organizational security measures in order to ensure such protection. Below we provide an overview of which personal data is processed for which purpose on this website (the "offer"). The legal basis of data protection can be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (“Bundesdatenschutzgesetz”, BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (“Telemediengesetz”, TMG).
Handling of personal data
Personal data is information that makes a natural person identifiable. Therefore information can be traced back to a person. Besides direct information such as name, email address or telephone number this includes data on preferences, hobbies or settings of a person, as well as information on electronic communications (eg. browser history, connection data). Personal data is only collected, used and transferred by NBWN as far as it is permitted or required by law or the user agrees to the data collection and processing.
Access data / server logfiles
NBWN (or our hosting provider) collects data of each access to the offer (so-called server log files). These access data include: Name of the requested web page, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, browser type along with version, operating system of the user, referrer URL (previously visited), IP address and the requesting provider. NBWN uses the collected data only for statistical purposes, for the purpose of operation, security and the optimization of the offer. A pooling of this data with other data sources isn’t made. However NBWN reserves the right to check log data later if there is reasonable suspicion of unlawful use due to concrete indications.
While contacting NBWN (for example via the contact form or e-mail) your data of the request forms including the contact information you provide, is stored and used for the purpose of processing the request and for the case of follow-up questions. This data will not be shared without your consent.
We collect and process your data for contract implementation and any subsequent warranty or guarantee transactions (personal master and address data, communication data and accounting/payment data). During the ordering process the necessary data is transferred to our service providers (eg. carriers, logistics, payment intermediaries), where this is required for contract implementation. An order is also possible without a customer account.
If you set up a customer account, the necessary information is collected, processed and used for registration, and for providing the shopping portal. Access to the portal uses secure encryption technologies and requires the input of email address and password. Your specific order data is stored by NBWN. With account registration you get access to stored data about your person and your orders. If you want to close your account, please contact one of the given contact possibilities below.
To subscribe to our email newsletters your email address is required; further voluntary information (title, first name, name) is used for personalization of the newsletter. Upon completion of registration, you grant your at any time revocable consent to receive the newsletter. For confirmation of your newsletter subscription an explicit confirmation using the so-called "double opt-in method" is required in order to enable your newsletter receipt. For this – after completing the registration - you get a confirmation email from us, containing a link, which you please click to actively agree to the receipt of our newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. For this purpose, you can find a link at the bottom of each of our newsletters. Your email address is used exclusively by us and not transferred to third parties.
